Hi all,

It's been ages since I've posted anything here, but I keep right on
readin' along all these years later -- I think I've been on the list
something like 18 years(!!). Thanks John Relph for maintaining it for so
long! (Shout out to my old pals Wes, Cheryl, Naoyuki, and many more...)

Anyway, I recently started doing what I now realize I should have been
doing a long time ago: writing a music blog! It's called "Reselect"
(http://www.reselect.com) and highlights a great song (from any artist
or genre I feel like) each day for a little discussion, along with
embedded video/audio. It's just a couple of weeks old, but anything you
can do to help me get the word out would be very appreciated,
particularly if you happen to like what I'm doing with it!

So please, please, please: comment, "Like" it on Facebook, Tweet it,
share it via one of the included social networking icons on the posts,
etc., etc.

Thanks, and most of all, I hope you find it worth coming back to each
day. And no, I haven't featured XTC yet, but you can be sure that I will
very soon!

The Nines have always been a favourite of XTC fans, and the main guy Steve
Eggers has worked with Andy P, so I thought this would be of interest.
The Nines have a new album of unreleased material spanning 15 years and 4
albums and multiple labels called Polarities. Their mailing list just sent
out a promo video for a song called "It's all too late" from the album which
is very British 1960s/David Hemmings and Xtcish or perhaps McCartney...

I know this is probably old news to many of you, but I just stumbled
across this promotional video for the first time, called "The Road to
Oranges and Lemons":

It's a puppet show that was made by Andy, Colin and Dave in 1989 to
promote Oranges and Lemons ... and it is HILARIOUS. If you haven't
seen it yet, I heartily recommend it.

So, I'm working with this guy who is into all kinds of cool progressive
music and a lot of good rock.  I ask him is he has any XTC in his
collection.  He proudly details how impressed he is with Andy
Partridge's writing and proclaims that he has _everything_ they've done.

heh-heh... unlikely.

He has a pretty thorough collection of the major releases but there was
no hint of Jules Verne, Bull Guts, Testimonial Buffet, Rag and Bone
Dinner, Powers (lunch!), the King For A Day tribute, Monstrance, Through
The Hill, and Fuzzy Warbles!

Needless to say, I blew his mind.  I gave him three mp3 CDs that will
take him months to explore!

In an odd way, I envy him.
