I'm speaking to the justice league of america the u s of a hey you yes you in particular! when it comes to the judgement day and you're stood at the gates with your weaponry you dare clasp your hands in prayer and start quoting me 'cos we say.... our father we've managed to contain the epidemic in one place now let's hope they shoot themselves instead of others help to sterilize the race now. we've trapped the cause of the plague in the land of the free and the home of the brave if we listen quietly we can hear them shooting from grave to grave. you ought to melt the guns melt the guns melt the guns and never more to fire them melt the guns melt the guns melt the guns and never more desire them. andy-lead vocals acoustic guitar colin-fretless bass dave-electric 12-string guitar terry-drums and percussion composed by a. partridge |

Some fixes are offered here, others don't readily spring to mind. Okay okay I have trouble doing it with these ingenius songs! But I have some constructive additions/changes anyway. I cut some of Ian's work out and inset my notes and corrections with * The opening hook I believe, can be done barring the 8th fret and flicking the upper two strings,( or picking) ... "Melt the Guns... ...and ne- ver want to fire them" E 8 11 11 11 13 11 13 15 13 11 B 11 10 10 *G 8 8 8 ... * thanks to Ian for divulging this tricky fingering, but I feel * it is important to * note a staccato bass offset offered on 8th fret of G string. * It is possible this is a second guitar playing it. --------------------- The picking that follows... E 3 0 3 3 0 3 3 0 3 0 3 1 B 3 3 2 2 1 1 1 G 2 2 2 1 * Ian pegged this (for which I thank him -- I had no clue) * but I think he has the fingering wrong. The open feel of this * is better obtained by using 4 strings, using the open first * to allow it to "ring", via: *E 0 0 0 *B 8 8 8 8 8 8 5 8 6 *G 7 6 5 5 *D 7 7 7 6 ------------ Lead in to chorus: Prevention is better than cure, bad apples affecting the pure, you'll gather your C D Bb * Ian is off in his key here, and it is helpful to note the variation * in that all 3 chords insistently retain a high F, first as a * rightful note within a major chord, then as a 9th, and finally * as a beautifully gnarly flatted fifth. Ouch that hurts so good. *C# Eb9 B flat5 senses I'm sure then, aaaaaaaaagrreee to melt the guns...
