“My Bird Performs” vignette from Nonsvch |
Gene Yoon, 10/24/95 |
Fine art never moved my soul
No vintage wine designer clothes
But my world shakes for me
My bird sings sweetly
A different kind of tinsel
Decorates my tree
Yes my bird performs
A thousand Cheshire cats
Grin inside of me
Yes my bird performs
There she goes
Shakespeare's sonnets leave me cold
The drama stage and the high brow prose
But my world shakes for me
My bird sings sweetly
The brightest fireworks
Are lighting up my sky
Yes my bird performs
The cage is open
But she's no desire to fly
'Cause my bird performs
There she goes
And you keep saying what you got
You keep saying what you got
Look out!

Great !
Now, after "Skylarking", here's the 17 songs of "Nonsuch" (well 16,
because there's no bass in "Rook") tabbed !
It was harder, because it was longer, and also because sometimes the
bass was mixed pretty low, so maybe tabs like "Humble Daisy" or
"Wrapped In Grey" are inaccurate.
Cheers

In many places I did not try to figure out Exactly what was going on - I listened to the music and tried to figure out what chords I would play if I were to accompanying on on the piano. So probably many of the guitar chords are simpler than I've made them out to be. Also, in some places where I've indicated how to voice chords, it is just how I find it convenient, and not necessarily what they are doing on the record. I also left out lots of bass stuff, only including it where I thought it was important. But everything should be pretty close. Comments and corrections are welcome! Voicings are notated with low E on the left, high E on the right. E ----4--42--20--4- Disclaimer: I've only listened to the album a few times and I haven't actually tried any of these on my guitar yet. Use at your own risk. I'll try to figure out some of them for real, and maybe even bother with the bridges!
