An early title for this song was "Dream Down".
Andy: “A little piece of Mellotronics from 1985, which may have tucked nicely into ‘Sacrificial Bonfire’. For some reason the theme makes me think of the Roman Invasion of Britain?”Also available on Fuzzy Warbles Volume Two.
Andy: “Most of the time Wiltshire looks like a green bed quilt, freshly shaken and laid out under the clouds. Smooth folds and hillocks embroidered with the occasional daisy. How are you supposed to get all that out of me dicking around with a mellotron in 1985?”
British Heritage, March 1997: “The Ridgeway is one of Britain's most ancient highways, once a migratory route for wild animals, then a highway for Iron-Age traders, and now a footpath used by recreational walkers. The road begins at Beacon Hill in Buckinghamshire, and runs for 85 miles along the crests of the Downs to Overton Hill in Wiltshire. Along the way it pierces the chalk hills of the Chilterns, and there it passes near two of England's most puzzling ancient monuments, Uffington Castle and the White Horse.”
