Album version, 3'16.
Performed by The Dukes of Stratosphear.
Released on Psonic Psunspot.
Andy: “ ‘You're My Drug’ is meant to be a mixture of ‘Monterey’ by The Animals and ‘So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star’. Monterey is a favourite joke — I dunno what Californians thought of Eric Burdon. He was a Newcastle dwarf, a gnarled Geordie mystic! It was an XTC song, but it was too much like the Byrds; the chord change is so West Coast. So we thought let The Dukes do it like The Byrds!”
Gary Pig Gold: “ ‘So You Wanna Be a Rock and Roll Star’ (bass line and percussion and 12-string fills).”
[THIS SPACE INTENTIONALLY LEFT BLANK]
You take me to heaven from deeper than hell ever dug
And you fly me higher than a trip on a magical rug
Confessions unravel
You bang with your gavel
And here I stand guilty
In a court where you are the judge
You're the drug
You've got to come on round and pick me up
You've my drug
And I don't ever know if I can give you up
Well you bring me colour where once I had just black and white
Now I have rainbows appearing round here in the night
Our true loving is growing
And passion is flowing
Well I don't need any cigarettes or beer from a jug
You're my drug
You've got to come on round and pick me up
You're my drug
Well you can slow me down or quick me up
You're my drug
Well you can spill me down and lick me up
You're my drug
And I don't ever know if I can give you up

Hi !
Here's the bass tablatures for the 11 (great) songs from the classic "Black
Sea". A lot of repetitive bass lines, but also some tricky parts.
Sorry if there's any mistakes, and I hope you'll enjoy those basslines as
much as I do.
Cheers,
Florian.

For anybody who wants them, I have attached two .pdf files. One is the vocal parts for "You're My Drug," which are downright challenging. The other is the guitar duet that comes in towards the end of the B section of "The Affiliated," complete with tablature. J. D.
