Terry Chambers left the group just after studio sessions began. He did record a few tracks for the album...What I would like to know is which tracks did he play on????? I believe "Wonderland" is one. 2. The album had a serious delay in release time due to "Remix" problems. I was told the record company was unhappy with the orginal mix of the album an and they sent it back for remixing... Does anyone know what was wrong with the mix and what goit changed??? ---------- Brian A. Martin "Til our words cross again"

Relph <relph@presto.ig.com> Subject: XTC "Live" on Radio Hey folks, now that it seems XTC has finished their radio station tour, unless someone knows otherwise, shall we attempt to get a compilation tape of their recent efforts together? If you have taped any of the recent radio appearances or you know someone who has, and you can get a tape of it, please send a message to "chalkhills-request" so we can start getting a tape together. What I had in mind was to be a mostly-music tape, unless many people are interested in the interview material. What do you think, folks? Also, someone back at the dawn of time suggested making a tape of "rare" tracks. Would people want some "rare" tracks on the compilation tape instead of interview material? Since I do not know the quantity of actual live acoustic material we'll be able to come up with, it's possible we'll have some room on the tape. Anyway, please, let me know if you have a tape of any live shows, and we'll get this tape effort rolling. Thanks, everybody. -- John

Someone says that Phoenix has a garage band and Andy is producing an album for them. XTC ON KROQ, MONDAY 5/29: Songs: Scarecrow People Mayor of Simpleton Medley: Senses Working Overtime/Grass (with a little of the Young Rascals' "Groovin'" thrown in for good measure)/Love on a Farmboy's Wages Blue Beret Medley: Great Fire/Dear God/Big Day King for a Day Medley: One of the Millions/Pink Thing/Garden of Earthly Delights (Unfortunately, I had to pick someone up at the airport and my tape ran out after Earthly Delights. It seemed like they were just saying goodbye. Did I miss any other songs?) SOME QUOTES: In-store appearances: "When you meet and fall in love with one and a half thousand people in the course of an afternoon, it gets a little tiring." Why XTC still exists: "We're addicted to making records." Why O&L is different: "This album was made in a positive state of mind. This album was made with verve, which was kind of down on the last couple of albums...the verve control level was only around 3." On Drummers: "Our drummers tend to spontaneously combust. They got that bit in Spinal Tap from us."
